Dear Bakery Reader,
HO! HO! HO!! Have you put up your Christmas tree yet? Bringing a Christmas tree home like this is one of my childhood dreams. As I am from Hong Kong, an urban city with loads of people and most importantly, the average living space per person is unbelievably small. Having a real Christmas tree at home was really a pipe dream. But my dream has come true since we moved to the UK. We bought a Christmas tree from the local farm shop as usual. This is the third year having a real Christmas tree at home and I am still, obsessed with the smell of it. Last year, we didn’t measure the space in our living room before buying the tree. Of course, we bought a tree that took up 1/3 of the space of my living room. Smartieeesssss! It covered the entire window and the curtains were as much use as a chocolate teapot.

This year, we learnt from our mistakes and bought a perfect tree (I don’t mean it is literally the best tree in the world, I mean the perfect tree for my home.)
Apart from the awesome scent of Christmas tree, I love the uniqueness of every single tree, as well as the imperfectness. Trimming the tree, hanging fairy lights and ornaments, with soft Christmas songs playing in the background, I had a whale of a time. I did use a bit of my creativity here too. As the second top layer looks a bit empty, I put some trimmed parts there. My husband said he can definitely tell but I don’t care! Hahhahahhahaha! This is my way to do it. Can you find the hiding branches?
Talking about Christmas tree, this is an illustration I created 2 years ago. I am amazed by how much my style have changed. My style was more graphic, cartoony with vibrant colours. I still adore these ideas especially the canned tree. I am sure one of them will appear in the near future. Which one is your favourite?
My obsession with Christmas tree is real. I don’t just buy, decorate and illustrate Christmas tree, I also include it in my diet. Proudly present………PB&J with banana on tree! Having Christmas tree crumpets in December is my tradition. I have so much fun decorating and eating these festive goodies!!

Wish you all a merry, merry Christmas!
